N Atoll Council Wins the Council Innovation Challenge - Eijad

N Atoll Council has won the 'Eijad - Council Innovation Challenge’ which was conducted by The local government authority in collaboration with UNDP and aimed at island and atoll councils. During a four-day camp held in K. Tulusdhoo from August 6 to 9 with participation from the twelve councils which were shortlisted through an evaluation process, the innovative ideas presented by the councils were further developed and strengthened with assistance and guidance from LGA and UNDP.
Each of the participating councils prepared a proposal which was presented to the panel of judges, followed by the opportunity to further explain through a series of questions put forward by the judges. The judging panel included an innovation expert, representatives from public and private sectors, UNDP Maldives and LGA.
The suggestions proposed by the teams included working to understand climate change in innovative ways, addressing the problem of waste management in local islands, working to empower women socially and economically, and using innovative ways to ensure public access to public spaces in an equitable manner.
N Atoll Council, which won the challenge this year, received financial aid of MVR 500,000.00 from UNDP, along with the opportunity to work with UNDPs technical experts and network. The winning proposal of N Atoll Council was on developing a system for resource management of councils of N Atoll using GIS technology and integrating it with the resource planning system of councils.
The main objectives of this challenge for the councils include making use of modern technology, project management skills, and sustainable solutions to address social problems in the local areas. It also aims to improve the council's ability to use innovative solutions in a sustainable manner and generate revenue using all available resources. This challenge provides a platform for showcasing products to encourage other councils to find innovative solutions within their communities and expand responsive solutions for long-lasting development, such as through the local authority company.
ލޯކަލް ގަވަރމަންޓް އޮތޯރިޓީ އާއި ޔޫ.އެން.ޑީ.ޕީ. މޯލްޑިވްސް ގުޅިގެން ރަށު އަދި އަތޮޅު ކައުންސިލްތަކަށް އަމާޒުކޮށްގެން ފުރަތަމަ ފަހަރަށް ބޭއްވި 'އީޖާދު ކައުންސިލް އިނޮވޭޝަން ޗެލެންޖް' ނ. އަތޮޅު ކައުންސިލުން ކާމިޔާބުކޮށްފި. އޮގަސްޓް މަހުގެ 6 އިން 9 އަށް ކ.ތުލުސްދޫގައި ބޭއްވުނު މިޗެލެންޖަށް ކުރިމަތިލީ ކައުންސިލްތަކުގެ ތެރެއިން އިވެލުއޭޝަން މަރުހަލާއިން ޝޯޓްލިސްޓްވި 12 ކައުންސިލާއެކު ކ.ތުލުސްދޫގައި ބޭއްވުނު 4 ދުވަހުގެ ކޭމްޕެއްގެ ތެރެއިން ކައުންސިލްތަކުން ހުށަހަޅާފައިވާ އީޖާދީ ޚިޔާލު ފަރުމާކުރެވިފައިވާ ގޮތް އިތުރަށް ތަރައްޤީކޮށް ހަރުދަނާކުރުމަށް އެލް.ޖީ.އޭ އާއި ޔޫ.އެން.ޑީ.ޕީގެ ބޭފުޅުންގެ އެހީތެރިކަމާއެކު މަސައްކަތްކުރެވުނު. އަދި ލިބުނު މަޢުލޫމާތުގެ އަލީގައި ކޭމްޕްގައި ބައިވެރިވި ކޮންމެ ކައުންސިލަކުންވެސް ޕްރޮޕޯސަލްއެއް އެކުލަވާލާ، ޗެލެންޖުގެ ޖަޖުންނަށް ހުށަހެޅުމަށާއި ޖަޖުންގެ ސުވާލުތަކަށް ޖަވާބުދިނުމަށް ކައުންސިލްތަކުގެ ޓީމުތަކަށް ފުރުސަތު ދެވުނު. ޖަޖިން ޕެނަލްގައި ޕަބްލިކް އަދި ޕްރައިވެޓް ސެކްޓަރއާއި އިނޮވޭޝަން އެކްސްޕާޓެއްގެ އިތުރުން ޔޫ.އެން.ޑީ.ޕީ. މޯލްޑިވްސް އާއި އެލްޖީއޭގެ ފަރާތުން ބޭފުޅުން ހިމެނުނު. މިފަހަރުގެ ޗެލެންޖުގައި ޓީމްތަކުން ހުށަހެޅި ހިޔާލުތަކުގެ ތެރޭގައި އީޖާދީ ގޮތެއްގައި މޫސުމީ ބަދަލުތައް ދެނެގަތުމުގެ މަސައްކަތް ކުރުމާއި، ރަށްރަށަށް ދިމާވެފައިވާ ކުނީގެ މައްސަލަ ހައްލުކުރުން، އިޖުތިމާއީ އަދި އިގްތިސާދީ ގޮތުން އަންހެނުން ބާރުވެރިކުރުމަށް މަސައްކަތް ކުރުން އަދި އީޖާދީ ގޮތެއްގައި އާންމު ތަންތަން/ޕަބްލިކް ސްޕޭސް އާންމުންނަށް ބޭނުން ކުރެވޭނޭ އިންތިޒާމް ހަމަޖައްސައިދިނުން ހިމެނޭ. މިޗެލެންޖުގައި ބައިވެރިވެ، ޕްރޮޕޯސަލް ހުށަހަޅައިގެން ޗެލެންޖު ކާމިޔާބުކުރި ނ. އަތޮޅު ކައުންސިލަށް 500,000.00 ރުފިޔާގެ ފައިސާގެ އެހީ އާއި ޔޫ.އެން.ޑީ.ޕީ. ގެ ނެޓްވޯކްތަކާއި ފަންނީ މާހިރުންނާއި އެކު މަސައްކަތްކުރުމުގެ ފުރުސަތު ލިބިގެންދާނެ. ނ. އަތޮޅު ކައުންސިލުން ހުށަހަޅާ ކާމިޔާބުކުރި ޕްރޮޕޯސަލްގައި ވަނީ ޒަމާނީ ޓެކްނޮލޮޖީގެ ބޭނުންކޮށް ނ.އަތޮޅުގެ ވަސީލަތްތައް ބެލެހެއްޓޭނެ ނިޒާމެއް ޖީ.އައ.އެސް ސިސްޓަމެއްގައި މެޕްކޮށް އެކުލަވާލާ ކައުންސިލްތަކުގެ ރިސޯސް ޕްލޭނިންގ ސިސްޓަމާ ގުޅުވާލުން.
ކައުންސިލްތަކަށް އަމާޒުކޮށްގެން މިފަދަ ޗެލެންޖެއް ބޭއްވުމުގެ މައިގަނޑު މަގްސަދަކީ ރަށްރަށުގައި ހުރި އިޖުތިމާއީ މައްސަލަތައް ހައްލުކުރުމަށް ޒަމާނީ ޓެކްނޮލޮޖީއާއި، ޕްރޮޖެކްޓް މެނޭޖްމަންޓާއި، ދެމެހެއްޓެނިވި ގޮތެއްގައި އީޖާދީ ހައްލުތައް ބޭނުންކުރުމަށް ކައުންސިލްތަކުގެ ޤާބިލިއްޔަތު އިތުރުކުރުމާއި، ކައުންސިލްތަކަށް އާމްދަނީ ހޯދުމުގެ ގޮތުން ކައުންސިލްތަކުގެ އިހުތިސާސްގެ ތެރެއިންނާއި އޭގެ ބޭރުން ލިބެންހުރި ވަސީލަތްތަކުގެ މައްޗަށް ބިނާކޮށް އީޖާދީ ހައްލު ހޯދައި ޕައިލެޓްކޮށް އެކްސްޕެރިމެންޓް ކުރެވޭނެ މަންސައެއް ފަހިކޮށްދީ، މުޖުތަމައުގެ ތެރޭގައި އީޖާދީ ހައްލުތައް ހޯދުމަށް އެހެން ކައުންސިލްތަކަށް ހިތްވަރު ދިނުމުގެ ގޮތުން އުފެއްދުންތައް ދައްކާލުމުގެ އިތުރުން އިޖާދީ ހައްލުތައް އިތުރަށް ފުޅާކޮށް، ލޯކަލް އޮތޯރިޓީ ކޮމްޕެނީ ފަދަ ގޮތްގޮތަށް ދިގު މުއްދަތަކަށް ދެމިގެންދާނެ ފަދައަކުން މިފަދަ ހައްލުތައް ބިނާކުރުމަށް މަގުފަހިކޮށްދިނުން
